Culminating

I don't plan when I paint, I just do it when I want to. I can't explain what I'm going to paint because it always turns out to be something totally different. That's why I paint first and then explain later.  I never paint anything I don't like only if I get cash in my pocket.
The background I did a few years ago as an experiment, I hated it and hid it down stairs until I thought it would make the perfect background with this project. I love colours and detail and weird things. The buildings show my love of the streets of water in Italy, Venice. Anyone who knows me, knows that's my favorite thin to paint. And I've been painting those types of buildings for over 2 years. I can't wait to actually see venice in real life and paint the buildings on a bridge.  I'm always trying something new to make it look better.
I love to travel and it has been a dream of mine for quite some time to take a little camp and road trip across canada with my buddies when I'm older"it's on my bucket list"

Compass stands for my love to explore and travel and try new things
I love being outdoors and love fishing, but only in the summer I hate ice fishing with a passion
I love drinking tea, I have a cup of tea every night before bed. My favorite tea is David's tea hence the cup of tea I painted.
I put a kayak on my painting because it is one of my favorite activities to do outside. I live right beside wolf river so me and my dad kayak down the river, onto lakesuperior and up cold water creek, and no matter how many times I take that route it has always been my favorite kayaking adventure.
the strawberry stands for strawberry fields from the beatles album. I love the beatles, I don't know why I just do. And the quote inside is my favorite quote. I'll be honest I don't understand it quite yet but it's my motivator to never give up on art, and maybe one day I will understand what it means.

when ever I find something I like I usually just stick it up on this board, I couldn't fit all the things I like on the canvas And I didn't want to use my board but i thought I should  post this as well.

stencil thinger

For my stencil I picked an eagle, as I was drawing my outline out I looked closely at the detail in the bird and merge them into shapes.

PPT questions

Morrisseau's style: very spiritual, abstract, colourful, "an xray anatomy with spirit power lines."
what made Morrisseau's so special? he was the first person in Canada and the US to paint the images and legends of the Easter Woodlands people. He took a risk to do what he thought was right. He shared the story of his ancestors through his art.
What struggles did he face? At one point his people were disappointed in him for sharing their sacred stories with the world. But he did what he thought was right. He struggled with his inner conflicts about revealing Ojibwa culture to the white man, and he drank heavily.
What did he do for Canadian art? He had inspired artists throughout canada and the rest of North America by breaking the taboo and creating a new visual vocabulary. Ahis symbolism became a trade mark.
