Culminating

L1. It tells us that context can be important when interperating a peice of art, as it allows us to gain insite on the background of the peice. Without context  a peice of art can lose meaning, making it harder for its audience to connect with it.
2. I would be annoyed. He seems really seems arrigant as if he really doesnt care about oters art. i feel he'd misinterate it.
3.Aboslutley. Its esssential to know.
4. How others interperate my art.

It has to be a mix of technique and intent for me to understand and appreciate it fully.

Art analysis can help you understand the process in the creation of the art which can bring about a new appreciation for the work and talent put into the piece which overall effects how you value the work itself.

ART -on the break.

Christmas christmas Christmas, I did some neat art stuff this Christmas.
Firstly my favourite:
For someone special ( but I will never say who!)
Because this person likes crazy nautical things.

Secondly a gift for my dad. I didn't this one on Christmas Eve I work best under pressure. seriously.
Our favourite hiking place and I wrote "never stop exploring" on the back. Made him all soft when he saw it. Crazy dad.

Thirdly one for my mom. Also done on Christmas Eve. (I'm an experienced procrastinator! Don't worry!)
This was a hike we did in early fall. It was really nice. Momma Kath loved it!

Fourthly Christmas Day I was feeling extra chipper (wonder why) so I used on of my sketches from figure drawing and made this guy!
The sign means "hummm" like meditating stuff.

And finally the first painitng of 2015!! *drum roll* (Kylie should be flattered)

So yeah that's all I got. Happy New Y'all!

Cross-Curricular Project

Art is pretty much my favourite thing in the entire universe so if I was going to relate any of my art work to a subject, it would be art obviously . But I didn't want to be to cliche so I picked up one of my interests from the past few years and collaborated it all into one. FASHION.
Many people will say fashion is really not an important because really when you think of fashion you think of skinny supermodels strutting up and down a runway wearing a thousand dollar name brand piece of fabric. But I bag to differ. I believe it is much more then what it appears.
It brings out your creativity and improves self confidence. It shows how unique you are from others and sometimes it's good not to feel like everyone else.  What I realized is that people feel extremely happy when they create something that they like and ends up a success. For example if someone was getting dressed and they decided to wear an outfit that they had never worn before and people complimented them on it they would be happy and self confident. People then will understand that it is okay that your clothes look different from other people's and they start to enjoy looking different that will become a lot less stressed about how they look and won't feel as much pressure to look like everyone else.

So that is what fashion means to me and now for the amazing masterpiece*DRUM ROLL*
This is a collabortation of my fashion phase throughout the past 3 years.
Fashion is already a form of art. It's something you create out of nothing and design in your own way. And I think it is such a cool form of art because first you create it and then you can wear it for the entire world to enjoy and see.

Terrarium building

Last Saturday my friend Bailey and I made some Terrariums just because. We found the idea from tumblr, Pinterest and in little stores so we thought it would be cool to make our own!

We went to Vandeweids and got some Succulents and Cactuses.
Then we went to michaels and got the other material. Cost about $50 all together.

The turned out superb!

Norwegian Village

I wanted to paint a picture of Norway since I am applying for an exchange program to Norway or Denmark. I found this picture on the internet, stretched a canvas for the first time( learned I had no upper body strength) and began to paint. I started with using charcoal to sketch out the image then began painting.
